NTA to Conduct NEET UG 2025 Exam in Offline Mode, Check Official Notice

The National Testing Agency has released a major update regarding the exam mode of the NEET UG 2025 exam. The National Eligibility Entrance Test, NEET, is going to be held in offline mode this year. The NEET UG 2025 exam will continue its pen-and-paper exam format just like the previous years.

Key Highlights:

  • The National Testing Agency (NTA) has chosen to hold the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 in a paper-based format on one day and in one shift.
  • Beginning from the 2025-26 academic year, candidates interested in BSc Nursing at Armed Forces medical hospitals must pass the NEET UG exam for admission to MNS.

NEET UG 2025 Exam in Offline Mode

The NTA has given its confirmation that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be held in the traditional offline mode. There was speculation going around that the exam can be shifted to online or hybrid mode. NTA organizes the NEET UG examination for entry into undergraduate medical programs such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, among others.

The Ministry of Education had earlier constituted an expert of panels to give recommendations on the exam mode. After the final discussions, the authority has decided to continue the NEET UG exam in pen and paper format.

NEET 2025 Exam Mode Official Notice

The official notice released regarding the NEET Exam mode by the NTA reads, “As decided by the National Medical Commission (NMC), it is informed that the NEET (UG)-2025 shall be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR based) in single day and single shift”.

The notice further says, “MNS (Military Nursing Services aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing courses being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2025 are required to qualify for NEET (UG). The NEET (UG) score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course”

NEET UG Exam Mode 2025: Latest News

Recently, the NTA recommended that NEET UG 2025 candidates utilize their APAAR ID and Aadhaar-based verification while registering for NEET UG 2025. The NEET UG syllabus for 2025 has been published on the official NEET 2025 website. NMC has developed the syllabus without altering the subject-wise topics for NEET.

A specialized committee on NTA reforms proposed numerous modifications to NEET UG, including a multi-stage assessment, multi-session examination, improved distribution of test centers, a computer-assisted pen-and-paper format, and the digital transmission of question papers. Last year, the Ministry of Education established a high-level committee due to the extensive controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak, the cancellation of NEET results, and the organization of a re-test.
