The MCC has has released the NEET counselling 2024 round 2 final seat allotment result on September 20, 2024. The NEET UG round 2 provisional seat allotment list for All India Quota (AIQ) seats was published one day ahead on September 19, which was earlier scheduled for September 13. Candidates were allowed to submit grievances by sending mail to MCC by September 20, 2024, 10 AM.

The MCC is conducting the NEET counselling 2024 round-wise and currently the round 2 counseling process is ongoing. The MCC has revised the dates for the NEET UG round 2 counselling process. Due to changes in the schedule of the round 2 admission process, the dates for round 3 and stray vacancy round has also been revised. Candidates who passed NEET can attend the counselling session.

With the updated timetable, the registration period for round 2 of NEET UG counselling remained open until September 16, 2024. The opportunity to pay the fee was open until 3 PM on September 16, 2024. Students could submit their choices for allocation based on the updated seat matrix until September 16, with the results of the second round of seat allocation was declared on September 20, 2024.

NEET 2024 Counselling Highlights

Any student who wants to be admitted into the medical colleges after clearing the NEET exam will have to attend the NEET UG counselling 2024 process. The counselling consists of different rounds. MCC is overseen by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). There will be 3 rounds, followed by a vacancy round, so in total, 4 rounds. Candidates who qualified the NEET UG 2024 entrance test can participate in the NEET counselling.

NEET Counselling 2024 Registration Link

The extended window for registration in the second round was open until September 16. Candidates had the option to include their preferences for the extra seats in the second round allocation. NEET Counselling Process

NEET counselling is the process through which students get admitted to medical and dental colleges to pursue MBBS, BDS, and other courses. The NEET counselling 2024 process will begin by the Medical Counselling Committee.

The MCC is conducting the NEET (UG) counselling to fulfil 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats of Central universities and other institutes (deemed universities). The candidates are required to register themselves on the official website of Medical Counselling Committee at mcc.nic.in.

NEET Counselling Registration Process

The NEET (UG) counselling process for the year 2024 consists of the following steps:

Step 1: Complete the MCC NEET registration process, which includes payment.
Step 2: Filling out and locking the NEET 2024 counselling choices.
Step 3: Round 1 Seat Allocation and Results Announcement
Step 4: Report to the assigned Medical/Dental College (option for free entry/exit)
Step 5: Round 2 net empty spots are announced.
Step 6: NEET counselling round 2 registration (not required for already registered applicants) and new choice filling for NEET counselling round 2.
Step 7: Second round of seat allocation (leave with forfeiture of security amount option available).
Step 8: Report to medical/dental colleges/institutions in preparation for round 2 (candidates who have been assigned a seat are not permitted to quit it).

Candidates will require a list of documents during the NEET UG counseling 2024 application form filling process as well as during the physical reporting at college for admission. NEET Counselling Security Fee Refund

The NEET counselling security fee refund will be launched by the authorities at the conclusion of the counselling process. If seats are given to candidates throughout the NEET Counselling 2024 procedure, the security deposit will be reimbursed to their respective institutions, adjusted for annual fees.

If the seats are not granted to the candidates during the counselling process, the amount will be sent to the same account that was provided at the time of registration. As a result, the candidate should maintain their bank account and card active until the reimbursement process is complete.

NEET UG Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions to participate in the NEET counselling 2023 process:

  • Candidates must pass the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET).
  • They must be registered on the MCC’s official website.
  • AIQ counseling for Deemed Universities will be available to all NEET-qualified students.

All candidates, including those from the J&K UT, are eligible to participate in the AIQ and deemed university counselling.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling for Central Universities

    • Delhi University (MAMC, LHMC, UCMS) – 15% of seats in Delhi University-affiliated colleges. Candidates who have completed Class 11 and Class 12 at a Delhi-based institute would be eligible to apply for these 85% seats.
    • Jamia Millia Islamia University – The institute has 50 BDS seats available, with 47 of them filled through MCC NEET counselling. The remaining three seats are covered by an institutional quota. Only candidates who have completed Class 11 and Class 12 at JMI institutes will be eligible for institutional quota seats.
    • Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a private university in Aligarh, India. The institute has reserved 50% of its seats. The remaining 50% will be filled through NEET MCC counselling. Candidates who have attended AMU for the last three years are eligible for institutional quota.
    • Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has 15% of open seats. All applicants who meet the fundamental qualifying criteria for NEET MCC counselling are eligible to apply for seats at BHU.

MCC offers four rounds of NEET counselling for the All India Quota seats, as follows. Following the completion of the first four rounds of NEET UG 2024 counselling, more rounds of counselling will be held to fill the remaining seats. NEET UG 2024 Counselling Choice Filling

After finishing the NEET Counselling 2024 registration process, candidates must fill out the options by going into their MCC portal account. They must select the course/college in the order of preference.

Candidates must lock their choices after filling them out.

  • It is important to lock it throughout the choice locking time in order to obtain a print of the submitted selections.
  • MCC urges in a message, “Don’t wait until the last minute to register, lock your choices, and get a printout.”
  • Please review your submitted options before locking them, as once locked, they cannot be amended or changed, even if you made a mistake. It could result in the allocation of a seat that you did not want.
  • Please keep in mind that once locked, the options cannot be opened, even by MCC.

NEET Counselling 2024: New Changes

Some changes has been introduced in the NEET UG 2024 counselling process. Candidates should check the latest changes made in the counselling process below.

  • It is important for candidates to carefully consider whether or not to engage in the third round of AIQ/Deemed/Central Universities since once they do, they cannot withdraw and cannot take part in any additional counseling. A candidate’s name will be removed from the All India Stray Vacancy Round list if they are given a place at either the AIQ or the Deemed/Central Universities.
  • OCI cardholders will now be eligible for NEET UG 2024 counseling administered by MCC on the same terms as Indian nationals.
  • Those who did not register in Round 1 or who were not assigned a seat must register again for the NEET Counseling Round 2. Those that advanced to Round 2 are required to physically show up at the college they were assigned, and they have the option to advance to Round 3.
  • Candidates who are assigned seats for Round 2 of NEET counseling will lose their security deposit if they fail to show up at the designated institution. No claim will be made by upgraded candidates to their Round 1 seat.
  • For applicants who did not register in Rounds 1 or 2, or who quit or did not report in previous rounds, a new registration for NEET counseling 2024 is needed for Round 3.
  • A candidate may indicate their desire to move up to the Round 3 seat once they have joined the Round 2 seat. Their security deposit will be lost if they choose to sign up and later decide to leave.
  • In the event of an upgrade to Round 3, the candidate is required to relinquish their seat in the Round 2 NEET UG 2024 counseling and assume the Round 3 seat. They cannot leave or upgrade from this seat after they have joined.

NEET UG Counselling Seats

The remaining seats in government medical institutions and all of the seats in state-sponsored medical colleges will be filled by state officials to the tune of 85% and 100%, respectively. NEET counselling will differ from state to state. Admission to MBBS in government colleges and admission to private medical colleges would be governed by state NEET counselling norms.

AIQ Seat Reservation

The Government of India has introduced OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS reservation in Under Graduate (UG) All India Quota seats (MBBS/BDS) in the selection of applicants through NEET UG counselling for MBBS.
