About UPRTE25- What is RTE Act?
The full name for RTE is the Right to Education Act. The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, or Right to Education Act (RTE), is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted on August 4, 2009, which describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education for children between the ages of six and fourteen in India under Article 21a of the Indian Constitution.
Under this system, the state government conducts admissions to Class 1 and Pre-Primary classrooms in accordance with Section 12(1)(G) of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. This provision ensures that 25% of spaces in unaided private schools are safeguarded for kids from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds. The objective is for 100% enrolment of eligible children in RTE-designated seats by the end of March 2025, with regular classrooms beginning on April 1, 2025.
