WBJEEB Merit List 2024

The WBJEEB prepares the WBJEE merit list on the basis of candidate’s performance in the WBJEE test. This merit list is used during the counselling process. The WBJEE allocates tow types of ranks: General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR). The rank is provided to the applicants based on the marks obtained and the exam subject taken. The ranking methodology used by the WBJEE Board is given hereunder.

General Merit Rank (GMR) Methodology

  • An overall score from Papers I and II combined will yield a General Merit Rank (GMR).
  • All of the subjects’ combined marks will be arranged in descending order. In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking standards shall be applied.
  • A distinct reserved category merit rank will also be shown for every set of students, including SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PWD Rank, TFW Rank, etc.
  • At Jadavpur University of West Bengal, the GMR would be the sole requirement for admission to all engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture programs.
  • The GMR alone will decide on admission, counseling, and seat distribution (not category ranks).

Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) Methodology

  • The Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) ranking will be based only on the marks of paper-II, which covers chemistry and physics.
  • Paper-II total marks will be ranked in descending order. In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking standards shall be applied.
  • A distinct reserved category merit position will also be indicated for every group of students, including SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PWD Rank, TFW Rank, etc.
  • PMR would be a requirement for admission to all pharmacy programs, with the exception of Jadavpur University.
  • PMR will be the only factor used to determine seat allocation sequencing—not category ranks. Only the candidates included in the relevant category’s information are given category rankings.

Category Ranks

Based on the category data that candidates submitted online throughout the application process, category ranks are determined during counseling. Therefore, as of the verification date, the candidate’s credentials must be up to date. If a candidate’s claim turns out to be untrue during verification, their category rank will be revoked and they will be placed in the general category.

WBJEE Exam Result Tie-Breaking Criteria
