The conducting body does not release the official syllabus for the XAT exam, however, goin through the previous years papers, experts have provided candidates with the relevant syllabus. XAT Syllabus 2025

The XAT syllabus for 2025 includes topics such as Verbal and Logical Ability, Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General Knowledge. In order to achieve a high score on the XAT exam, candidates must review all the subjects covered in the XAT syllabus 2025 pdf.

Moreover, the XAT syllabus for MBA also includes distinctive sectional subjects like decision-making and an essay. The XAT exam has one unique section known as Decision Making, for which applicants need to prepare separately.

XAT 2025 Syllabus

The XAT 2025 syllabus is divided into five sections. In order to achieve high scores in XAT 2025, candidates must thoroughly study all topics in the syllabus. The XAT 2025 exam will consist of 103 questions, which will include an essay writing section. XAT 2025 Section-wise Syllabus

The XAT exam consists of the following five sections:

  • General English
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  • Quantitative, DI, and Data Sufficiency
  • General Knowledge
  • Essay Writing

It is important to note that XAT scores will consider only marks obtained in General Knowledge, Decision Making and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, Verbal and Logical Ability. Only applicants who are selected for the group discussion and personal interview will have their essays evaluated.

XAT Paper Pattern

The XAT question paper is divided into three parts based on the entire XAT syllabus. Candidates can check the parts name along with their time limit below.

  • Part 1 for 175 minutes: Questions on VA &LR, Decision Making and QA & DI
  • Part 2 for 5 min: Testing of the key board
  • Part 3 for 30 min: GK and one essay writing question on any of the given three topics

XAT Decision Making Syllabus 2025

The Decision Making part sets the XAT Exam apart from all other MBA Entrance Exams. It assesses the candidate’s quick thinking and situational awareness to evaluate their problem-solving and case-solving abilities. The number of questions in this part differs from one paper to another. The subjects that are commonly examined in this portion as per the XAT Curriculum include:

XAT General Knowledge Syllabus 2025

This is a different part that CAT does not assess. Nevertheless, even though the section is included, XAT percentiles are determined by the performance in the first 3 sections. XAT Exam Pattern 2025

The current XAT exam format consists of five sections: general knowledge, quantitative aptitude and data interpretation, decision-making, verbal ability and logical reasoning, and analytical essay writing. The length of the XAT in 2025 is 3.30 hours. There will likely be 104 questions on the XAT 2025 question paper. The distribution of questions and marks is given below.

 XAT Marking Scheme 2025

Along with the exam pattern, candidates should also know about the marking scheme to understand the exam in a better way. The scoring system that will be used to determine the scores for the XAT 2025 exam is given hereunder:

  • 1 marks will be awarded for the right response
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for a wrong response
  • 0.10 marks will be deducted for each additional eight unanswered questions in a row
  • The GK section of the XAT exam paper has no negative marking.
