மே 24, 2017 அன்று பொதுச் சபை மொழி வல்லுநர்களுக்கான தீர்மானத்தை ஏற்று, செப்டம்பர் 30 ஐ சர்வதேச மொழிபெயர்ப்பு தினமாக அறிவித்துள்ளது. 1953 ஆம் ஆண்டு நிறுவப்பட்ட சர்வதேச மொழிபெயர்ப்பாளர் கூட்டமைப்பு, 1991 ஆம் ஆண்டு உலகம் முழுவதும் தொழிலை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காக மொழிபெயர்ப்பு தினத்தை அங்கீகரிக்கும் யோசனையை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது.
