இந்தக் கட்டுரையில், TNPSC குரூப் 1, குரூப் 2, குரூப் 2A, குரூப் 4 மாநிலப் போட்டித் தேர்வுகளான TNUSRB, TRB, TET, TNEB போன்றவற்றுக்கான  முறைகள் இலவசக் குறிப்புகளைப் பெறுவீர்கள்.தேர்வுக்கு தயாராவோர் இங்குள்ள பாடக்குறிப்புகளை படித்து பயன்பெற வாழ்த்துகிறோம்.

Gymnosperms

General Characters of Gymnosperms
 Gymnosperms (Gr. Gymnos= naked; sperma= seed).
 The members are distributed throughout the temperate and tropical region of
the world.
 A well-developed Tap root system is present.
 Gymnosperms have two phases in its life cycle. (Sporophytic and
Gametophytic)
 They have well developed vascular tissues. (xylem and phloem)
 The water conducting tissue is tracheid. Food conducting tissue is sieve cell.

Classification of Gymnosperms:
1. Cycadales eg: Cycas sps – Palm like small plants (erect and unbranched)
2. Ginkgoales eg: Ginko biloba – Ginko biloba is the only living species in the
group.
3. Coniferales eg: Pinus sps – Evergreen trees with cone like appearance.
4. Gnetales eg: Gnetum sps – Small group of plants

Economic importance of Gymnosperms:
Plants Products Uses
1. Pinus gerardiana Roasted seed Used as a food
2. Taxus brevifolia Taxol Drug used for cancer treatment
3. Pinus roxburghii, Picea smithiana Wood pulp Used to make papers
4. Cedrus atlantica oil Used in perfumery
