The Uttar Pradesh government has recently taken a significant step towards improving the education sector in the state. Sudhir M Bobde, Additional Chief Secretary of Higher education state that In an effort to streamline the recruitment process for teaching positions, a 12-member committee has been established for making a draft of UPESSC. The committee’s main objective is to propose amendments to the existing Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission Act-2019, with the ultimate goal of creating a unified recruitment body.
Sudhir M Bobde, Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education stated that This newly proposed commission i.e. UPESSC will be responsible for selecting teachers and principals for all types of educational institutions, ranging from higher education to basic, technical, and vocational education departments. The aim is to centralize the recruitment process, ensuring that qualified candidates are appointed to key teaching positions throughout Uttar Pradesh. By creating a single recruitment body, the government aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the selection of educators, ultimately improving the quality of education provided in the state.
Sudhir M Bobde, Additional Chief Secretary of Higher education confirmed the formation of a new commission in Uttar Pradesh, aimed at revolutionizing the teacher and principal recruitment process. Once the amendment process is complete, this single body will oversee the selection of educators for a wide range of institutions, including those under the state higher education department, secondary schools, basic education, technical education, vocational education, as well as the minority welfare and waqf department.
Presently, the recruitment of teachers in government primary schools is handled by UP Basic Shiksha Parishad, while the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission is responsible for appointing teachers and principals in government secondary schools and institutions under the social welfare department. However, with the introduction of the new commission, these disparate processes will be streamlined into a unified approach.
By centralizing the process, the government aims to ensure that qualified individuals are selected for these vital positions throughout the state. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education in Uttar Pradesh and aligning the recruitment procedures across various educational sectors.
