12 Member Committee to form UPESSC for Teaching Recruitment

Sudhir M Bobde, Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education stated that This newly proposed commission i.e. UPESSC will be responsible for selecting teachers and principals for all types of educational institutions, ranging from higher education to basic, technical, and vocational education departments. The aim is to centralize the recruitment process, ensuring that qualified candidates are appointed to key teaching positions throughout Uttar Pradesh. By creating a single recruitment body, the government aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the selection of educators, ultimately improving the quality of education provided in the state.

Presently, the recruitment of teachers in government primary schools is handled by UP Basic Shiksha Parishad, while the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission is responsible for appointing teachers and principals in government secondary schools and institutions under the social welfare department. However, with the introduction of the new commission, these disparate processes will be streamlined into a unified approach.

By centralizing the process, the government aims to ensure that qualified individuals are selected for these vital positions throughout the state.
