The chief minister’s announcement promises the filling of an impressive 3,295 vacant positions within the state’s esteemed higher education institutions such as various universities and IIITs.

The government’s visionary approach extends to the realm of information technology education, with plans to fill 660 positions in the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs).
A definitive timeline accompanies this announcement, with the entire recruitment process slated for completion by 15 November 2023. The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) will oversee the meticulous selection process, underscoring the government’s commitment to a transparent and merit-driven recruitment drive.
Officials are targeting an efficient schedule, with the APPSC expected to issue notifications on 23 August 2023 for the vacancies. Online examinations are projected for the third and fourth weeks of September, with results anticipated by 10 October 2023, and the final selection list to be unveiled by 15 November 2023.
Chief Minister Jagan emphasized that universities would flourish with a full-fledged teaching staff in place, reinforcing the significance of regular appointments to vacant positions. His insistence on a merit-based selection process underscores his dedication to providing quality education to students.
Recently, the Andhra Pradesh Government has successfully conducted a huge recruitment drive of 51000 positions in the Medical and Health Department. The proactive step by the government to fill in vacant posts in the Health Sector highlights the approach of the Government to addressing vital staffing needs across sectors to advance the welfare of the populace.
With the same efficiency that marked the appointment of 1.30 lakh staff members in village and ward secretariats, Chief Minister Jagan expects the expedited recruitment of faculty in universities and IIITs. The proposal to grant contract-based employees a maximum of 10 weightage marks, at a rate of one mark per year, ensures a balanced evaluation process.
Notable figures including Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Principal Secretaries J. Syamala Rao (Higher Education), and Chiranjeevi Choudary (Finance-HR) were present at a recent review meeting, reflecting the high-level dedication towards realizing this visionary educational transformation.
