Bihar Cabinet has approved new guidelines for Teacher Recruitment in Bihar to fill 2.25 Lakh vacancies. The new rules for teacher recruitment have made it a centralized process. Moreover, the new appointees will be eligible for various allowances and facilities already equivalent to state government employees.
Earlier, the teachers were appointed through the Panchayati Raj which led to many controversies in the past. The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has come up with new guidelines to clear the deck of long-pending recruitment of teachers in the government schools of Bihar.
A new commission will be formed to conduct the recruitment of teachers. The teachers will be divided into district-wise cadres and they will be equivalent to the state employees. For the higher secondary schools, the teachers will be divided into a subject-wise cadre system.
Candidates who are equipped with the CTET or State TET certificate while conforming to other eligibility criteria laid by the NCTE will be able to apply for Teacher Recruitment in Bihar. Special Educators must conform to the rule laid down by the Rehabilitation Council of India to become eligible to apply for teaching positions in special schools.
The Bihar Government has announced during the 2022-2023 Budget Session that 48,762 primary teachers, 5,886 physical education trainers, 44,193 teachers in secondary schools, 89,734 teachers in higher secondary schools and 7,360 computer teachers will be appointed in the upcoming Bihar Teacher Recruitment.
