PGT Eligibility Criteria

- Two Years Integrated Post Graduate Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

- Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the following subject:

- PGT (Hindi) – Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi as one of the subjects at the Graduate level.
- PGT (Mathematics)-Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics
- d. PGT (Physics)–Physics / Applied Physics/ Nuclear Physics.
- PGT (Chemistry) Chemistry/ Bio. Chemistry.
- PGT (Biology) – Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/Bio Sciences/ Genetics/ Genetics/ Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Molecular Bio/Plant Physiology provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at the Graduation level.
- PGT (History) – History.
- PGT Geography-Geography
- PGT (Commerce) – Master’s Degree in Commerce. However, holders of Degrees of M. Com in Applied/Business Economics shall not be eligible.
- PGT (Economics) – Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics.
- PGT Information Technology- B. Tech (computer science / IT) / Master’s Degree in Computer Application/Computer Science/Information Technology/M. Tech (Computer Application/Computer Science/Information Technology).

PGT Age Limit
The Minimum Age Limit for a PGT post in any government school under central or state government is on average 21 years. The maximum Age Limit for PGT posts is 40 years. Therefore the candidate applying for the Post Graduate Teacher post must be between the age limit bracket of 21 years and 40 years to become eligible.
PGT Age Relaxation
To apply for the post of Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) Post-Graduate Teacher the minimum age limit is 21 years to the maximum age of 40 years. However, certain age concessions have been granted for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories. candidates belonging to the SC/ST category are often given a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
Can you apply for PGT Entrance without a BEd Degree?
Teaching aspirants who wish to apply for the PGT post must have a BEd Degree to become eligible. As per the PGT Eligibility Criteria, the candidates must have a Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the relevant subjects along with a BEd Degree. Without a valid BEd degree from a recognised university or institution, the candidates will not be considered for the post of Post Graduate Teacher under any government teaching recruitment drive.
