Chhattisgarh Professor Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the CGPSC Professor Recruitment 2024 are:

• Educational Qualification:
  • Candidates must possess a PhD degree in the concerned or allied/relevant subject.
  • Candidates should have at least 10 publications in the form of books and/or peer-reviewed research/policy papers or journals listed by the University Grants Commission (UGC), along with a minimum of 120 research marks.
• Age Limit: The age of the candidate should not be less than 31 years as of January 1, 2021. The upper age limit is 56 years, but for direct recruitment, after considering various age relaxations, the upper age limit can be extended up to 61 years. Local residents of Chhattisgarh may receive additional age relaxations as per the General Administration Department’s instructions.

CGPSC Faculty Selection Process

The CGPSC Faculty Selection Process involves two stages: an examination and an interview. The exam, worth 300 marks, consists of 150 objective-type questions divided into two sections: Chhattisgarh General Studies (50 questions for 100 marks) and subject-related topics (100 questions for 200 marks). Candidates must score at least 33% in each paper, with SC/ST/OBC candidates requiring 23% to qualify. Those who pass the exam proceed to the interview, which carries 30 marks. No minimum marks are required for the interview, and the final selection is based on the combined scores from both the exam and interview, ranked by merit and category.

Written Examination

The first phase involves a comprehensive CGPSC Professor examination consisting of a single objective-type question paper. The total number of questions in the exam is 150, and the total score is 300 points. Each question will have four possible answers (A, B, C, and D), and candidates must select the correct or nearest correct answer. To qualify, candidates must score at least 33 percent in each section of the examination. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the qualifying marks are set at 23 percent.

Interview

The second phase is the interview, which is allocated 30 points. There are no minimum qualifying marks for the interview phase. Approximately three times the number of vacancies advertised will be invited for the interview. Only candidates who pass the examination will be eligible to participate in the interview.

Selection List

Candidates will be selected based on their combined performance in both the examination and the interview, with the final list prepared according to merit and category-wise total marks obtained.

CGPSC Faculty Salary 2024

The salary for a Professor in CGPSC is based on the Pay Matrix Level 14 as per government norms.
