The Allahabad High Court has put a stay on the release of CTET Result 2023 for BED Degree holders. This comes after the hearing on the petition filed by Prateek Mishra and Others against the release of CTET Result 2023 for BED Degree holders.
In case, CTET Result 2023 for Bed candidates has already been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education then it will be put on hold and these candidates will not be considered CTET Qualified. In other words, BED candidates who had applied and passed the CTET Exam Paper I 2023 will not be eligible for applying for a job until further notice from the Allahabad High Court on this matter.
The inception for this case is the notification released by National Teachers Council for Education (NCTE) dated 28th June 2018 where it was stated that BEd Degree holders are eligible to apply for CTET Paper-I (Primary Level). However, this NCTE notification was challenged in the Rajasthan High Court and later NCTE challenged the verdict of the Rajasthan High Court in the Supreme Court.
Despite the pending Supreme Court Case, the Central Board of Secondary Education had allowed the BEd Degree Holders to apply for CTET Paper I. Therefore, another case was filed by Prateek Mishra and others in Allahabad Court challenging the Decision of CBSE to allow BEd Candidates to apply for the CTET Paper-I.
Earlier, only DELED Candidates were allowed to apply for CTET Paper and BEd Candidates were to apply for CTET Paper II. With the release of the NCTE Notification in 2018, DELED holders felt the strain of rising competition and the unfairness in the matter. According to them, any recruitment body would prefer a CTET Qualified candidate with BEd Degree in comparison to DELED Degree.
Now, that the Court Case is still ongoing, the Bed candidates who have passed the CTET Paper I Exam will not be considered qualified and they will have to wait for the final verdict of the Supreme Court and consequently the Allahabad High Court verdict.
