The DSSSB Recruitment Notification 2024 has been released for various teaching posts under DSSSB. Since then the DSSSB Aspirants have been flooding us with queries on DSSSB Age Limit and Age Relaxation for various categories. As DSSSB has released various posts and the Age Limit for all these posts of DSSSB is different, therefore, it is essential for the candidates to check out the Age Limit for all the posts with utmost care.

DSSSB Age Limit 2024

Vacancies have been released under the DSSSB Recruitment 2024 for various posts such as PGT, TGT, Assistant Teacher- Nursery, Assistant Teacher- Primary (DOE) and others. For the post of PGT, the Age Limit prescribed by DSSSB is below 36 years. Candidates applying for the post of TGT should be under 32 years of age and for Assistant Teacher- Nursery and Assistant Teacher- Primary, the Age Limit is below 30 years.

Age Relaxation For Women Candidate

DSSSB has prescribed Age Limit Relaxation for Women candidates. Women candidates who are Widows / divorced women/ women who are judicially separated and are not remarried (Only for Group ‘C’ Posts) are eligible for age relaxation of Up to the age of 35 years. In this case, women candidates who fall under the above criteria will become eligible for further age relaxation of up to the age of 40 yrs if they belong to SC/ST category & 38 Years if they belong to the OBC category.

DSSSB Age Limit For Contractual Teacher

There is a one-time relaxation for Contractual Teachers who would apply for the DSSSB Recruitment 2024. The candidates who have already worked or are still working as Contractual Teachers in DSSSB for at least 120 days in a particular Academic Year will get a relaxation of a maximum of 5 years. However, this relaxation is applied to only one post and can be used once only.

DSSSB Category- Wise Age Relaxation

The candidates must have a clear idea of the DSSSB Category-Wise Age Relaxation in order to apply accordingly. The candidates who belong to reserved categories must check out the following table for a better understanding of the Age Relaxation provided to the reserved category categories as prescribed by DSSSB.

Departmental candidate with at least three years of continuous service.	For Group B Post: – Up to 05 years for Group ‘B’ posts (which are in the same line or allied cadres and where a relationship could be established that the service already rendered in a particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of the duties of post) as per DoP&T O.M. No. 15012/2/2010 – Estt. (D) dated 27^th March 2012.
	For Group C Post: – Up to 40 years of age (45 years for SC/ST, 43 years for OBC) for Group ‘C’ post (which are in the same line or allied cadres) as per DoP&T O.M. No. 15012/2/2010 – Estt. (D) dated 27^th March 2012.
Meritorious Sports Persons (Only for Group ‘C’ posts)	Up to 05 years (10 years for SC/ST and 08 years for OBC candidates)
Ex-Servicemen Group B & C (Non – Gazetted)	Period of Military service plus 3 years
