IITM Research Associate Eligibility Criteria

• Doctorate Degree: Obtained from a recognized University in the relevant or associated fields. Additionally, candidates must have authored at least one research paper as the first author in a journal indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI) within the pertinent discipline.
• Minimum Aggregate Marks: Candidates from General and OBC categories are required to have a minimum aggregate of 55% in their Master’s degree. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories, a minimum aggregate of 50% is necessary.
• Programming Proficiency: Proficient in computer programming languages such as Python, FORTRAN, C++, and R. Familiarity with shell scripting is also essential.
• Software Competency: Proficiency in MATLAB software, as well as familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, MET-TC, VSDB, and AI/ML tools, is advantageous.
• Operating System Familiarity: Experience with Linux/UNIX operating systems is preferred.

• Post Graduate degree from a recognized University in Concerned Subject
  OR
  M. Tech. in Atmospheric/ Oceanic Sciences or related subjects.
  OR
  Master’s degree from any branch of Engineering.
  AND
  Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/ UGC NET /ICAR NET (Lectureship / Assistant Professorship) / GATE / JEST and appeared / to appear for final year of M.Sc. / M.S. / M. Tech. / M.E. can also apply for the IITM Research Fellow positions
