KARTET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates must read the Eligibility Criteria for the KARTET to ensure they are eligible for the exam. The eligibility criteria for Paper I and Paper II is different hence the candidates must go through the eligibility criteria carefully.

  • Eligibility for Paper I (class 1 to 5): PUC/ Sr Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks & passed/ appearing in the final year of 2-year DElEd (by whatever name known)/ 4th year BElEd/ 2-year DEd (Special Education) OR BA/ BSc with at least 50% marks & passed/ appearing in Final-year of 2-year DEd.
  • Eligibility for Paper II (class 6 to 8): BA/ BSc with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year DElEd / 2-year BEd/ 4-year BElEd/ Final-year BEd (Special Education)/ PUC / Sr Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks & passed/ appearing in the final year of 4-year BAEd/ BScEd.
  • Domicile: There is no domicile requirement for appearing in KARTET. However, priority for teaching positions in Karnataka government schools will be given to candidates with Karnataka domicile.

KARTET 2024 Exam Pattern
