• Principal’s Experience Requirement Increased: The required experience for the Principal position has been increased from 8 years to 12 years, which has come as a shock to many PGTs (Post Graduate Teachers). Additionally, Vice Principals (VPs) will now need 3 years of experience.
• Headmaster’s Minimum Age Requirement: The minimum age for the Headmaster position is now 35 years, whereas earlier, there was no age restriction. In the previous recruitment, several candidates under 35 years were selected, including some as young as 27-28 years old. This is a major setback for PRTs (Primary Teachers).
• Graduation Subject Now Considered for PGT: Earlier, this rule applied only to Hindi, but now it applies to all subjects for PGT recruitment. This change negatively impacts candidates who completed BSc and entered the job market but later pursued an MA instead of MSc due to the practical subjects in MSc (which are difficult to complete via distance learning). However, those who studied Arts previously will not be affected, while others’ hopes have been shattered.
• LDCE Changed to LDE:  The Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) has been renamed as Limited Departmental Examination (LDE). This change disadvantages new KVS employees because, even if they top the LDE, they will not get a promotion. Instead, promotions will be given to those who joined earlier and are senior to them. This modification benefits existing employees significantly.
• Reduction in Age Relaxation for KVS Employees:  Previously, there was no age limit for KVS employees, but now they get only 5 years of relaxation. This negatively affects those who joined KVS without completing their education, as KVS allows only 10% of employees to continue higher studies. Many new joinees do not get permission for further studies, and by the time they qualify, they exceed the age limit.
• Increased Experience Requirement for VP: PGTs will now need 6 years of experience to become a Vice Principal (VP).
• BEd Now Mandatory for PGT Computer Science: Earlier, B.Ed. was not required, but now it is compulsory for PGT Computer Science candidates.
• Promotion Rule Change for KVS Employees: Previously, KVS employees were exempted from the 50% rule during promotions from TGT to PGT. This exemption has now been removed, which is a major change.
• Reduction in LDE Seats for HM, PGT, and TGT: Earlier, 50% of seats for Headmaster (HM), PGT, and TGT were allocated through LDCE. Now, under LDE, this percentage has been reduced to 33.3%.
• New Posts for Special Educators: A new category of special educators has been introduced, with 497 posts for TGT Special Educators and 494 posts for PRT Special Educators

KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria 2025

The KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria 2025 outline the essential qualifications that candidates must meet to apply for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions. KVS TGT Eligibility Criteria 2025

The KVS TGT Eligibility Criteria 2025 defines the necessary qualifications for candidates aspiring to become Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Applicants must hold a Four-year Integrated Degree or a Bachelor’s/Honours Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks (both subject-wise and aggregate). A B.Ed., Three-year B.Ed.-M.Ed., or One-year B.Ed. (Special Education) from an NCTE or RCI-recognized institution with a minimum of 50% marks is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must have qualified CTET (Paper-II) and be proficient in teaching in both English and Hindi mediums. Those with a B.Ed. (Special Education) must complete a six-month NCTE-recognized Special Programme after appointment.

• Educational Qualification: Four-year Integrated Degree or Bachelor’s/Honours Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (subject-wise & aggregate).
• Professional Qualification: B.Ed. / Three-year B.Ed.-M.Ed. / One-year B.Ed. (Special Education) from an NCTE or RCI-recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
• Additional Requirements: Must have qualified CTET (Paper-II) and be proficient in both English & Hindi.
• Training Requirement: Candidates with B.Ed. (Special Education) must complete a 6-month NCTE-recognized Special Programme after appointment.
