National Voters Day 2023 is observed on 25th January 2023. As the name suggests, National Voters Day 2023 is dedicated to the voters of our country who go out and vote on election days to fulfill their suits as a citizen of India. The day also focuses on encouraging the younger generations to cast their vote responsibly and mandatorily. This year, India is going to celebrate its 12th National Voters Day on 25th January 2023.

In 2011, the Government of India announced that 25th January will be observed as National Voters Day henceforth. On 25th January 1950, the Election Commission of India was established and hence the Government of India decided to celebrate the day to emphasize the importance of casting vote for the citizens of India. The Election Commission of India is responsible to conduct all the elections in India. Citizens of India above the age of 18 years can cast a vote.

Voting is not just the right of the citizen of India, it is their duty as well. It is upon the citizen of India to choose the right candidates during the elections for better governance and growth of India. Therefore to promote the importance of the elections and voting system, National Voters Day is celebrated. Moreover, it motivates and influences young voters to turn up on election day and cast their votes after taking an informed decision.
