NIOS DElEd Supreme Court Judgement for Primary Teacher Post has been released. Supreme Court of India declared that candidates with NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) DElEd qualifications are not eligible for Primary Teacher positions. As the KVS Primary Teacher Result 2023 was released on 28 November 2023, candidates have to wait for the revised KVS PRT Result 2023.
The Supreme Court, in a recent ruling arising from the Jaiveer Singh vs. State of Uttarakhand & Ors. Case, stated that the NIOS DElEd program is a distance learning course and does not provide the same level of training as traditional teacher training programs. The court further noted that not all state governments recognize this qualification, and this may create challenges for candidates seeking employment in different states.

Will KVS PRT Result 2023 be Revised?
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced that it will review the provisional list of selected candidates for the Primary Teacher recruitment process in light of a recent Supreme Court ruling. The ruling affects the eligibility of candidates who have completed the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Diploma in Education (DElEd) program.
While the ruling has disappointed some aspirants, it is important to note that it will not impact those who have already been appointed as primary teachers. The KVS will take all necessary steps to ensure that the recruitment process is conducted in compliance with the law.
Advantages of Supreme Court Judgment on NIOS DElEd

- Protection for Current Teachers: Those who are already appointed as teachers won’t be affected by this ruling, ensuring job security for existing educators.
- Finality of Decision: The Supreme Court’s decision is considered final and binding, settling the matter conclusively for all concerned parties.

- Missed Career Opportunities: The ruling takes away the opportunity for NIOS DElEd candidates to pursue a career in the teaching field, impacting their professional aspirations.
- Investment of Time and Money: Many students invested time and money in the NIOS DElEd program, and the decision renders them ineligible for teaching recruitment, leading to a potential loss of resources.
