Odisha Teacher Salary Structure

The salary details for all OSSSC TGT vacancies have been given below. OSSSC TGT Arts, Science, and Language teachers will earn Rs. 35,400 per month, while OSSSC Physical Education teachers earn Rs. 29,200 as per the 7th pay commission.

OSSSC TGT Selection Process 2024

The candidates applying for the OSSSC TGT Recruitment must be aware of the entire OSSSC TGT Selection Process 2024. For detailed explanations, candidates must read the following section carefully. The Selection process for the TGT post mainly includes- written test, skill test, Document verification, counselling and release of result.

• Written Test: The selection process begins with a Written Test, which will be conducted in all districts. The specific date, time, and venue for the test will be communicated to eligible candidates through admission letters, which will be made available online on the Commission’s website. It is crucial for candidates to regularly check the website for updates and notifications regarding the examination schedule.
• Skill Test (For Tribal Language Teachers): Candidates applying for the Tribal Language Teacher positions who qualify in the Written Test will be required to take an additional Tribal Language Skill Test. This test will evaluate their oral proficiency in the tribal language, particularly in the context of pedagogical communication. The skill test is qualifying in nature, meaning it must be passed, but it does not contribute to the final merit score. This test will be conducted within two months following the Written Test.
• Provisional Master Merit List Release: After the Written Test, a Provisional Master Merit List will be prepared, which will rank candidates based on the total marks secured in the Written Test (Paper-I & Paper-II). The list will be organized category-wise and special category-wise and will be published on the Commission’s web portal. Only those candidates who have appeared in the Written Test will be considered for this merit list; failure to do so will result in exclusion from further stages of the recruitment process.
• Document Verification: Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the Written Test or Tribal Language Skill Test will be shortlisted for document verification. Typically, 125% of the total number of vacancies will be shortlisted, ensuring a sufficient number of candidates for final selection. Document verification is carried out by the respective district Collectors, who will validate the candidates’ original documents against the information provided in their applications. Until this verification is completed, the candidates’ selection remains provisional.
• Counselling: After document verification, shortlisted candidates may be called for a counselling session. During counselling, candidates will have the opportunity to choose their preferred posts and districts from the available vacancies. The final allocation of posts and districts will be based on a combination of merit and the candidates’ preferences. Detailed guidelines for this process will be provided by the Commission at a later stage.
• Final Selection List Release: The final stage involves the preparation of a District-wise Provisional Select List, which will be based on the candidates’ merit and their choices/preferences expressed during counselling. This list will be published on the Commission’s website and will remain provisional until the appointing authority formally validates and accepts the candidates’ selection. The final results, along with the select list, will be accessible online, providing a transparent conclusion to the recruitment process.
