Other State Candidates Eligible for 16000 Posts only: BPSC

Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023 is one of the biggest teaching recruitment of the year. More than 1.7 lakh teaching vacancies have been released for various teaching posts across Bihar. BPSC or Bihar Public Service Commission had earlier revised the eligibility criteria for the Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023 and declared that residents of other states can also apply for the Recruitment.

This came as a huge surprise for Teaching aspirants across the nation. It was assumed that candidates were eligible to contest for all the 1.7+ teaching vacancies. However, as per the media sources, the teaching aspirants appearing for the Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023 will be able to contest for 16000 teaching vacancies only.

As per the Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023 Notification, there were 1,70,461 teaching vacancies were released. Out of which, 79,943 vacancies were for the post of Primary Teacher. As per the reservation quota rules, 60% of the 79,943 vacancies are allotted to the reserved categories which amounts to around 48000 vacancies. Out of the remaining 32000 vacancies (Approx), there is a reservation quote of 50% for the Women candidates.

These entire statistics leave only 16000 vacancies to the unserved category candidates and as per the revised eligibility criteria, candidates from other states can only apply for general category vacancies. Moreover, the other state candidates will be considered as general category candidates irrespective of their caste or reservation category valid in other states.

The fact that the general category candidates of Bihar will compete with the other state candidates alone has raised the bar of competition. The candidates will have to put their best foot forward to crack the Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023.

As per the Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria, candidates with CTET Certificate will be able to apply along with the Bihar STET Qualified candidates.
