What is the Full Form of PGT?
The PGT Full Form is Post Graduate Teacher. The teaching aspirants who have completed their post-graduate in concerned subjects from the any Nationally Recognised University of India are called PGT. These candidates need to complete a 2-year B.Ed Degree course to become eligible to apply for the PGT posts.
PGT Full Form & Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must check out the following PGT Eligibility Criteria to ensure they are eligible PGTs for any recruitment exam within India. The PGT Eligibility Criteria are given in detail in the following section. The candidates are advised to thoroughly read the following pointers.
- Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subjects/combination of subjects and in aggregate. from any recognized University.
- B.Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized university
- Working knowledge of Hindi and English
- The candidates must be above 21 years of age to become eligible for PGT recruitment exams.
Is CTET Mandatory for PGT?
CTET is not for the PGT Post. The Central Teachers Eligibility Test is conducted for the PRTs and TGTs. Unlike TGTs and PRTs, the candidates who have completed their Post Graduate do not have to appear for the CTET Exam to become eligible for the recruitment exams. The candidates must complete their B.Ed course as mandatory eligibility.
