The shortage of Principals in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) has risen in recent times. More than 40% KV’s do not have Principals and teaching staff shortages have shot up to 2 times in the last three years. These massive shortages of staff have driven the employee bitter as many teachers and principals have to work double shifts forcibly. With no progression in career and transfers policy stalled leading many spending 5 to 7 years at remote locations has escalated the frustration and unrest among the employees.
In response to such pondering issues, the KVs officials have replied to conduct a release fresh recruitment drive in this academic year. The KVs vacancies have risen to 12,044 based on the data shared by Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi during a Parliamentary Session.
According to data shared by a KV staff (requested anonymity), nearly 250 schools out of the total 1247 schools are Grade 2 schools which do not require a principal. These schools are headed by Vice-Principals. The rest of the approximately 1000 KVs do require a Principal, however, approximately420 KVs do not have any Principal appointed at present.
The shortage of staff in KVs has affected the performance of the students as well. Based on the Class XII and Class X Board Results 2022, the pass percentage of the students from KVs has dropped leading to the overall Ranking Dropped of KV from 1st to 3rd position.
The last KV recruitment drive was completed in 2019. In the last three years, no new recruitment drive was announced due to the Covid-19 outbreak. As KV recruitment process a written test, interview and skill test, it has been difficult for the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan to conduct any recruitment drive in the past three years with all the Covid-19 waves looming over.
The candidates who have been waiting for Kendriya Vidyalaya Recruitment Process 2022 must fasten their seat belts as the KV Recruitment 2022 is expected to be released very soon.
