TN SET Examination Day – Dos and Don’ts

Being prepared for the TN SET exam goes beyond just studying the syllabus. The exam day experience can also play a big role in your success. Here’s a quick guide to the dos and don’ts to ensure you approach the TN SET exam with confidence:

Dos

• Reach the exam center early: Plan your commute and factor in buffer time for unexpected delays. Aim to reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card. This will give you ample time to settle down and avoid any last-minute anxiety.
• Carry all the required documents: Double-check that you have your admit card, a valid ID proof (original and photocopy), a blue or black ballpoint pen for signing the attendance sheet, a personal water bottle, sanitizer, mask and gloves. PwD candidates should also carry their relevant certificates.
• Maintain a positive attitude: Self-belief is key! Remind yourself of all the hard work you’ve put into preparing for the exam and stay focused on giving your best.
• Read the instructions carefully: Don’t waste valuable time by rushing through the instructions. Understand the marking scheme, how many questions to attempt and any specific guidelines before you start answering.
• Manage your time effectively: Allocate time for each section based on the weightage and difficulty level. Don’t get stuck on any one question. Move on and come back to it later if you have time.
• Reread your answers: Before submitting your paper, take a few minutes to review your answers. This will help you catch any careless mistakes.

Don’ts

• Panic if you get stuck: If you find a question difficult, don’t panic. Skip it and come back to it later if you have time.
• Rely on guesswork: If you’re unsure about an answer, it’s better to leave it blank than to guess. There may be negative marking for incorrect answers.
• Get caught up in negative self-talk: Avoid dwelling on thoughts like “I can’t do this” or “I’m not prepared enough.” Focus on the task at hand and give it your best shot.
• Carry any electronic devices or study materials: The exam hall strictly prohibits electronic devices, calculators, textbooks, or any other study materials.
