UGC NET Notification 2024 for the December Cycle has been released on the official website of NTA. Candidates interested in applying for UGC NET December 2024 must start applying from 19 November 2024 through online mode. The last date of submission for the UGC NET Application Form 2024 is 10 December 2024. The last date to submit the application fee is 11 December 2024. UGC NET Notification 2024 Out
The UGC NET Notification 2024 is now available on the official website of NTA for download. The UGC NET Exam will be conducted for 85 subjects in CBT mode. UGC NET Exam 2024 tests the eligibility of the candidates to be awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programs and admission to PhD programs only, in Indian universities and colleges.

How to Apply for UGC NET December Exam 2024?
Candidates can apply for the UGC NET Exam 2024 for the December Cycle through the official online portal @https://ugcnetdec2024.ntaonline.in/site/login. UGC NET Application Form 2024 should be submitted only and candidates are allowed to submit only one application form. Read the following instructions carefully to be able to access and submit the UGC NET Online Application 2024 without any hassle.
- Visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
- Click on the ‘Application Form’ link at the bottom of the homepage.
- Select ‘New Registration’ to begin.
- Enter the required details and complete the registration process.
- Fill out the entire application form.
- Upload scanned images of:
- Passport-size photograph (10-200 kb, JPEG format).
- Signature (4-30 kb, JPEG format).
- Pay the UGC NET application fee
- General: ₹1150
- OBC/EWS: ₹600
- SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: ₹325
- Save and submit the application form.
- Download the confirmation page for future reference.
UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2024
To be eligible for the UGC NET 2024 exam, candidates must meet the criteria set by the National Testing Agency (NTA), as outlined in the official notification. UGC NET Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD) from a recognized university. The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 30 years, with a 5-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD and female candidates, while no upper age limit applies for Assistant Professor applicants. Candidates should choose a subject aligned with their Master’s degree or a related subject as per the UGC NET syllabus. Those in the final year of their Master’s program may apply if they fulfill the eligibility criteria by the time of appointment. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
UGC NET Exam Mode and Subject
The UGC NET Exam 2024 is conducted in online mode or Computer Based Test Mode (CBT Mode) from 1 January to 19 January 2025. Candidates can choose from 85 subjects offered by UGC NET as their core subject. The detailed UGC NET Exam Schedule 2024 will be released soon by NTA. The UGC NET Exam consists of two mandatory papers: Paper I and Paper II, with a total of 150 questions worth 300 marks. Paper I is a General Aptitude Test (50 questions, 100 marks, 1-hour duration), and Paper II is subject-specific (100 questions, 200 marks, 2-hour duration). The exam is conducted in two shifts: Shift 1 (9:00 am–12:00 pm) and Shift 2 (3:00 pm–6:00 pm). Candidates must review the exam pattern and syllabus to prepare effectively.
