The UGC NET June 2025 Exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 85 subjects, is a national-level test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for (i) award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as Assistant Professor, (ii) appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D., and (iii) admission to Ph.D. only in Indian universities and colleges. Steps to Apply for UGC NET Exam June 2025

• Visit the Official Website: Go to ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
• Click on “UGC NET June 2025 Registration”: Find and select the registration link for new users.
• Complete Registration: Enter basic details to generate your application number and password.
• Fill the Application Form: Log in and provide personal, academic, and contact details.
• Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of your passport-size photo and signature as per the specified format.
• Pay Application Fee: Make the payment through online mode (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI).

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who comply with the eligibility criteria mentioned below can apply for the UGC NET June Exam 2025.

• Education: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories); final-year students can also apply.
• Age Limit for JRF: Maximum 30 years (relaxation for reserved categories).
• Age Limit for Assistant Professor: No age limit.

UGC NET 2025 Exam Pattern

Validity of UGC NET Score

After achieving a valid UGC NET score that exceeds the cutoff or qualifying marks, candidates will receive a UGC NET certificate. According to the latest guidelines from the NTA and UGC, the UGC NET score for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is valid for three years from the date the JRF certificate is issued. In contrast, the score for Assistant Professorship is valid indefinitely. Therefore, candidates’ UGC NET scores are valid for a lifetime in the case of Assistant Professorship, while there is a three-year limit for the JRF.
