What is the UPTET Certificate Validity 2023?

UPTET Certificate Validity 2023: Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) will be released a UPTET Notification 2023 soon. As per data, 21,65,179 candidates had registered for UPTET exam 2021, out of which, 12,91,627 were for the primary level and 8,73,552 for the upper primary level. However, the state government will subsequently make adequate changes to help the candidates whose certificate validity is about to elapse.

On 3rd June, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, the Education Minister of India announced the extension of the validity of the TET Certificate. Henceforth, notices have been issued to all the respective state governments and UTs by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) regarding the extension of the TET Certificate validity. Now, the validity of the UPTET Certificate has been increased to a lifetime.

What is UPTET Certificate Validity?

The Chief Minister Of Uttar Pradesh had approved the proposal to extend the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) validity from 5 years to a lifetime. “As per the instructions of the Central Government, the certificate of Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) should be given lifetime validity.” In his tweet, UP CM Adityanath Yogi Office, the announcement of the extension of the UPTET certificate validity was confirmed.  The tweet said, ” The admission process of the D.El.Ed. course will be the same and the validity of UPTET Certificate should be given lifetime validity as per the guidelines of the Government of India”.

Validity of Previous Year’s UPTET Certificates

The validity of the Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test was earlier only for five years. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) have to take adequate and necessary actions for the UPTET certificate holders whose five-year validity is about to elapse. As per the notice issued by the NCTE, the UPBEB either have to revalidate the earlier certificate or issue a new certificate for the concerned candidates.

Earlier, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) increased the validity of the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET) examination. Now its validity has been made lifelong instead of seven years. This decision was taken by the National Council for Teachers Education, NCTE in the 50th General Assembly meeting. Since CTET is also valid in the recruitment of teachers in UP, lakhs of unemployed youth of the state will also benefit from it.

The statement issued by NCTE on 13th October said that the validity of CTET will now be lifelong. As per the statement mentioned 50th General Assembly meeting of the NCTE…” that was released on 13th October, the provision of extension of validity of Teacher Eligibility Test will have a prospective effect and the NCTE would take proper legal opinion and will act accordingly in case of candidates who have already passed the exam and obtained the TET Certificate.

UPTET Cut Off 2023

The UPTET qualifying marks differ for OBC, SC, ST, PwD and General category candidates. Officially, there is no UPTET cut off criterion as candidates just need to obtain the UPTET qualifying marks or passing marks to qualify for the exam.

UPTET 2023 Selection Process

Here, some general rules to be eligible for UPTET Exam are listed below.

  • Candidates have to qualify UPTET written exam, which is held once a year.
  • To qualify for the written exam, candidates should score a minimum of 60% or above.
  • Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria based on qualifying for the CTET paper.
