WB SET Exam Pattern and Structure

The WB SET Exam is conducted with 2 sections: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I focuses on assessing candidates’ general expertise in Teaching and Research aptitude. This paper lasts for one hour from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. With 50 objective questions, candidates have to answer under topics focusing on reasoning, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness with 2 marks for each correct answer.

Paper II on the other hand is completely subject-specific and tests the candidates’ proficiency in the subject in which they have been pursuing previous studies. The paper II lasts for 2 hours from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The paper is conducted in 100 objective questions with each correct answer rewarded 2 marks. Both papers exclude any kind of negative marking.
