The West Bengal School Service Commission is all set to release the Upper Primary Panel list of 13500 Candidates on 23 August 2023. The WBSSC will seek permission from the Calcutta High Court to proceed with the counselling session for the upper primary candidates after the release of the upper primary panel list. As per WBSSC, the counselling session will start only after the approval by the court regarding the authenticity and credibility of the upper primary panel list.
The Upper Primary Panel List is expected to contain names of more than 13500 candidates for the upper primary post. The WBSSC Upper Primary Recruitment 2023 Notification was released in the year 2014. Due to various administrative reasons, the recruitment and its results were delayed and various complications arise from this.
In 2020, the WBSSC released an upper primary panel list for the first phase which was it was rejected by the courts stating various irregularities and opacity in the panel list. The Courts further ordered a fresh panel list to be released. After crossing a few other hurdles in the WBSSC Upper Recruitment 2023 process, the Commission is now ready to release the Upper Primary Panel List for more than 13500 candidates.
The Upper Primary Panel List will contain the marks obtained by candidates in Secondary and Higher Secondary Levels, other academic scores and marks obtained in TET Exam. The Courts will now consider the authenticity of the Panel List after thorough scrutiny.
WB School Service Commission Chairman, Siddharth Majumdar said that the Commission will wait for the Court’s approval regarding the panel list. The Hearing on the panel list is scheduled for 30 August 2023.
This is a significant step towards the appointment of 13500 candidates for the post of upper primary post. The WBSSC Upper Primary Recruitment will ensure filling of the gaps in the teaching positions across the upper primary schools across the state of West Bengal.
