    • Dearness Allowance (DA): Revised periodically (currently ~55% of basic pay)
    • House Rent Allowance (HRA): 10–30% (depending on city category)
    • Other Benefits: Transport allowance, medical insurance, pension (under NPS), etc.
  • Approximate Total: ₹80,000–₹1,00,000 per month (varies by location).
• In Private Colleges/Universities: Typically ranges between ₹40,000–₹60,000 per month (may or may not include additional benefits).
• Central Universities & Premier Institutions (IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc.): Higher pay scales (often with additional research grants and allowances).

Salary Structure of UGC NET Qualified Assistant Professor

All the UGC NET qualified candidate will be going to receive Assistant Professor salary as per 7th pay commission. The Salary Pay Band is Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP Rs. 6000 Pre Revised (57000) Level 10. As per the 7th Pay Commission, the salary structure of an Assistant Professor in College or Universities is as follows:

• Basic Pay (Entry Level – Pay Level 10): ₹57,700/- per month
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 55% of basic pay → ₹31,735/-
• House Rent Allowance (HRA):
  • X Cities (30%) → ₹17,310/-
  • Y Cities (20%) → ₹11,540/-
  • Z Cities (10%) → ₹5,770/-
• Other Allowances (if applicable):
  • Transport Allowance (TA)

Stipend for JRF UGC NET Qualified Student 

Many universities and research institutions offer PhD programs in various fields. JRF-qualified candidates can apply for these programs and pursue research in their area of interest moreover JRF qualified candidates can also join various research institutions such as CSIR, ICAR, ICMR, DRDO, etc., as research fellows and work on various research projects.

The stipend provided to Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under UGC NET varies depending on the organization or institution that the candidate is associated with. However, as per the latest UGC guidelines, the stipend for JRF is Rs. 37,000 per month for the initial two years of the fellowship. After two years, the fellowship is upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), and the stipend is increased to Rs. 42,000 per month.
