Early Life and Education of Dharmendra Pradhan
Dharmendra Pradhan was born on 26 June 1969. He hails from a politically active family, being the son of Dr. Debendra Pradhan, a former Union Minister and senior BJP leader. Pradhan pursued his post-graduation in Anthropology from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, where he developed a keen interest in socio-political issues, especially those affecting the youth.
Political Career of Dharmendra Pradhan
Pradhan’s political journey began as an activist for the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in 1983. His dedication and leadership qualities saw him rise through the ranks, eventually becoming the Secretary of ABVP. His political career in the BJP has been marked by various significant roles. He was elected to the 12th Legislative Assembly of Odisha from the Pallalhara constituency (2000-2004) and later to the 14th Lok Sabha from Deogarh, Odisha. In March 2018, Pradhan was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh.

In the Modi government, Pradhan has held several important ministerial positions. He is currently serving as the Cabinet Minister of Petroleum Natural Gas and Steel.
