What Is REET
The full form of REET is the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination It is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER). Rajasthan Eligibility Examination of teachers (REET) is an eligibility test, however, after qualifying the REET Exam, the candidates will be considered for the recruitment process for the teaching vacancies under the Rajasthan Government. The REET qualified candidates do not have to appear for any entrance exam for teaching recruitments. REET is a state-level exam that is conducted for the recruitment of the teacher for Level I or Primary Teacher and Level II or Upper Primary Teacher.
Overview of REET Exam
- REET will be conducted Offline i.e. pen-paper mode examination.
- There will be no negative marking.
- After qualifying for this REET test candidate will become eligible for the post of teacher in Primary and Upper Primary Level in the state of Rajasthan.
- In accordance with NCTE Guidelines, REET Certificate validity has been extended from 3 year to life time
RBSE had announced 62000 vacancies for the post of government 3rd-grade teacher at the state level in Rajasthan. The candidates to appear for these vacancies must clear the qualifying test which is to be held on July 2022. In the REET Examination, the weightage of the marks obtained in the REET exam has been calculated in the Final merit list of the 3rd Grade vacancy

REET Exam Pattern (New)
The RBSE has changed the REET Exam pattern and the candidates who will appear for the REET Exam 2022 will have to prepare according to the new REET Exam Pattern. The New REET Exam Pattern includes various new sections like General Awareness, Currents Affair and Information Technology which were not there in the old REET Exam Pattern. The content and pedagogical based section has also been modified. Earlier, the REET followed the same syllabus and exam pattern as CTET and other TETs. However, now the new REET exam pattern resembles more like the exam pattern of any recruitment exam.

REET Selection Process
Previously, the weightage of the REET marks is only 70% and 30% is for the academic weightage of the candidates. Now it is converted into 90: 10.Revised REET selection process has been tabulated below

REET Certificate Validity
The REET Certificate validity has been extended to lifetime. Now, the candidates will be able to apply for the Rajasthan Teacher Recruitment processes on the basis of the REET certificate for life.
Difference Between REET & CTET
CTET or Central Teacher Eligibility Test is a central-government conducted eligibility test. On the other hand, TET or Teacher Eligibility Test is a state-government conducted eligibility test. The reason behind implementing Exams is to maintain teaching levels nationwide and benchmarks of teacher quality within the recruitment process.
CTET Exam is just qualifying in nature, on the hand, the REET Exam scorecard will be used to make the final merit list of the 3rd-grade teacher vacancy.
