Protest in Bapu Examination Center
The controversy over the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Exam continues. At the Bapu Examination Center in Patna, candidates protested, claiming the question paper had been leaked. However, the BPSC denied these allegations, calling them baseless. The exam, held on 13 December 2024, faced protests after 1 PM at the Bapu Center. The BPSC responded, stating strict measures were in place to ensure fairness, including live monitoring with over 25,000 CCTV cameras and a Command Control Center overseeing the exam.
Reason Behind Protest
A disturbance occurred at Bapu Pariksha Bhawan in Patna on Friday because some students received their BPSC exam question papers late. In certain rooms, the papers were delayed by 20 minutes, while others got them on time. Students highlighted the unfairness since they were not allowed entry if they were even a minute late.
The BPSC exam is taking place at 945 centers across the state, with over 4.83 lakh candidates. The Cyber Cell and Economic Offences Unit are keeping an eye on the situation, and police are on high alert to prevent cheating. On Thursday night, raids were conducted in Sheikhpura, targeting hotels and transport hubs to investigate possible leaks and ensure the exam is fair.
Denial of the Commission
When the claim of a leaked question paper surfaced, students created a lot of disturbance at the Bapu Auditorium in Patna. However, the BPSC denied the allegations, calling them the work of mischief-makers. They confirmed that the paper was not leaked and warned of action against those spreading rumors.
