Agneepath Scheme
Agneepath Scheme: The concept of “tour of duty” has gained significant attention within the Indian armed services. To further amplify its impact, the Cabinet Committee on Security took a historic decision on May 14, 2022, to launch the experimental program called the “Agneepath” Scheme. The Agneepath Scheme offers a fresh avenue for aspiring young Indians to join the armed services, whether it be the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Force.
The Indian government has opened the Agneepath Army Bharti Scheme to all applicants, providing an opportunity to enlist in the combat forces. Each year, approximately 45,000 to 50,000 soldiers will be recruited under the Agneepath Scheme, committing to a four-year service period.
