Recently, a speech was delivered at Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) 2023 by Shri Rajnath Singh, the honorable Raksha Mantri, to the senior leadership of the Indian Army.
- In his address, the Raksha Mantri reiterated that the Indian Army is considered one of the most reliable and motivating organizations in the country by over a billion citizens.
- He emphasized the outstanding contributions made by the Army in protecting the nation’s borders, combating terrorism, and providing aid to the civil administration when required.
Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) 2023
The Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) is a biannual event of the highest level, providing an institutional platform for the Indian Army to engage in conceptual-level discussions.
- About: The first Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) for the year 2023 is scheduled from 17 to 21 April 2023.
- Mandate: The primary objective of the Army Commanders’ Conference is to make important policy decisions that will guide the future of the Indian Army.
- Venue: This year’s ACC will be conducted in a hybrid format, utilizing available technology for secure communication. This is the first time that the ACC will be conducted in the hybrid format.
- On the first day of the conference, Army Commanders and other senior officials will meet virtually.
- They will then travel to Delhi for the remaining physical meetings, which will require more detailed deliberations.
Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) Activities
During the first day of the conference, the agenda will cover various topics sponsored by Command Headquarters.
- There will also be an update from the Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, as well as sessions led by Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters.
- In addition, the forum will review progress made on activities identified as part of the ‘Year of Transformation-2023’ initiative.
- This includes assessing progress on the Agnipath Scheme, digitization and automation initiatives, combat engineering tasks, work aspects, and budget management.
