ASEAN India Maritime Exercise (AIME-2023) to be held at Changi Naval Base
ASEAN India Maritime Exercise: AIME-2023 serves as a platform for the navies of ASEAN Member States and India to strengthen their collaboration, deepen their understanding, and cultivate mutual trust in order to tackle common challenges pertaining to maritime security at sea. ASEAN India Maritime Exercise 2023 is also important for UPSC Prelims Exam 2023 and UPSC Mains Exam (GS Paper 2- International Relations, Various International Grouping and activities affecting India).
Recently, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, RAdm Gurcharan Singh, embarked onboard Indian Naval Ships Satpura and Delhi, arrived in Singapore to participate in the inaugural ASEAN India Maritime Exercise (AIME-2023).
The ASEAN India Maritime exercise provides a platform for the navies of ASEAN Member States and India to enhance their collaboration, deepen their understanding, and build mutual trust to address common challenges related to maritime security at sea.

The ASEAN India Maritime Exercise is a joint exercise between the navies of ASEAN Member States and India that aims to enhance collaboration, understanding, and trust to address common challenges related to maritime security at sea.
From 02 to 04 May 2023, the Harbour Phase of the ASEAN India Maritime Exercise will take place at Changi Naval Base, followed by the Sea Phase in the South China Sea, scheduled from 07 to 08 May 2023.
The exercise involves the participation of the navies of ASEAN Member States and India.
The exercise typically involves a variety of activities, including harbour and sea phases, joint manoeuvres, communication drills, and sharing of best practices.
The main objective of the ASEAN India Maritime Exercise is to promote regional peace and stability by strengthening collaboration and trust among the participating navies.
