CGPSC Exam Date 2025 Out
The CGPSC Preliminary exam will take place on 9th February 2025 in two sessions: from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the morning, and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the afternoon. CGPSC Eligibility Criteria 2025
To apply for the CGPSC State Service Examination, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria. Those who do not meet these requirements will be disqualified.

CGPSC Selection Process 2025
The Combined Competitive Examination consists of two stages:
- Preliminary Exam – This is a screening test for selecting candidates for the Main Exam.
- Main Exam – This includes a written test and interview to make the final selection for various posts.
Exam Process:
- Candidates who score above the minimum required marks in the preliminary exam will be selected for the main exam.
- The number of candidates qualified for the main exam will be up to 15 times the total number of posts available.
- The preliminary exam marks are not considered for the final selection.
Main Exam:
- Candidates who score high enough in the main exam will be called for the interview.
- The top candidates, based on the main exam and interview marks, will be ranked for final selection.
Final Selection:
- Preference for posts will be considered if mentioned in the application.
- A separate merit list will be prepared for candidates from different categories (Unreserved, SC, ST, OBC).
- A supplementary list may also be created for additional candidates.
The selection process aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the recruitment for state services.
CGPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
The Preliminary Exam consists of 2 compulsory papers, each 2 hours long, with multiple-choice questions.
- First Paper – General Studies: 100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours. 1/3 of the marks for a correct answer will be deducted for wrong answers.
- Second Paper – Aptitude Test: 100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours. 1/3 of the marks for a correct answer will be deducted for wrong answers.
The Second Paper is only qualifying and will not be counted in the final merit list for the Main Exam. Selection for the Main Exam will be based on the General Studies paper (First Paper) only.

CGPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2025
The CGPSC Main Examination consists of seven papers, each of 200 marks, followed by a 100-mark interview. The question papers include short, medium, and long answer types. There is a 1/3 penalty for incorrect answers. The exam pattern is detailed in the table below.

The Main Examination will consist of conventional-style question papers with short, medium, and long-answer types.
- Preliminary Exam Qualifiers must appear in all seven papers of the Main Exam.
- Main Exam Qualifiers must also attend the Interview. Missing any paper or the interview will result in disqualification.
Language Options:
- All papers except the first “Language” paper can be answered in Hindi or English. However, candidates cannot mix both languages in a single paper.
Paper Details:
Paper II – Essay: Two sections:
- National/International Issues
- Chhattisgarh State Issues
- Write 750 words on two topics, one from each section.
Paper III to VII:
- Section 1: 22 compulsory questions (2 marks each, a total of 44 marks, 30 words each).
- Section 2: 13 compulsory questions (4 marks each, total 52 marks, 60 words each).
- Section 3: 8 compulsory questions (8 marks each, total 64 marks, 100 words each).
- Section 4: 2 questions from Part 2, answer 1 (10 marks, 125 words).
- Section 5: 2 questions from Part 1 & 3, answer 1 from each (15 marks, 175 words each).

- Applications for the State Service Examination-2025 are online only. Ensure you meet eligibility requirements before applying.
- Admission is provisional, and the admit card does not guarantee acceptance.
- The examination fee must be paid online, no drafts or cheques are accepted.
- After that, a Rs. 500 fee will apply for corrections until 05/01/2025.
- For changes in domicile status, a fee difference may apply.
