- At COP 26 in Glasgow, UK Parties decided on the functions of the Santiago Network and issued a call for submissions.

Why Kameng Hydro Power Station in news?
- Recently, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station to the nation.
- It is the biggest Hydro Power Project implemented by NEEPCO Ltd., a Mini Ratna Power PSU under Ministry ofPower.
How beneficial Kameng Hydro Power Station will be?
- 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station in Arunachal Pradesh will be a major step towards fulfilling Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of the Govt. of India
- The project will form part of projected hydro capacity addition of 30000 MW by 2030
- The project stretches over more than 80 kilometers in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh at a cost of approx. Rs 8200 Crore
- This will make Arunachal Pradesh a power surplus state with huge benefits to the National Grid in terms of grid stability and integration and balancing of solar and wind energy sources in the grid.

- The FIFA World Cup in Qatar started on November 20, 2022.
- At 29 days from start to finish (20 November to 18 December), this will be the shortest World Cup since Argentina 1978.

- The mascot for the FIFA World Cup 2022 is ‘La’eeb’.
- It is inspired by the keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men.
- ‘La’eeb’ in Arabic translates to ‘super-skilled player’, in anticipation of the hundreds of footballers about to land in the country.
- It is made of a piece of clothing.

Karmayogi Prarambh Module
Why Karmayogi Prarambh Module in news?
Today, PM distributed about 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits under Rozgar Mela. The Prime Minister also launched the Karmayogi Prarambh module.
What is Rozgar Mela?
- The Rozgar Mela is a step towards the fulfilment of the Prime Minister’s commitment to accord the highest priority to employment generation.
- The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in furthering employment generation and providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment as well as direct participation in national development.
- Earlier in October, 75,000 appointment letters were handed over to newly inducted appointees under Rozgar Mela.
What is Karmayogi Prarambh module?
- The module is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government departments.
- It will include code of conduct for Government servants, workplace ethics & integrity, human resource policies and other benefits and allowances that will help them to get acclimatized to the policies and transition smoothly into the new roles.
- They will also get an opportunity to explore other courses on igotkarmayogi.gov.in platform to enhance their knowledge, skills and competencies.
