The two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Young Authors’ Conference, focused on “Civilizational Dialogue Among SCO Member States’ concluded recently. The SCO Young Authors’ Conference 2023 saw attendance of representatives from SCO Member Nations.

The Valedictory Ceremony of the SCO Young Authors’ Conference was held, with the Minister of State for External Affairs & Education, Shri Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, serving as the Chief Guest.

• Host: The Ministry of Education organized the SCO Young Authors’ Conference.
• Venue and Date: SCO Young Authors’ Conference took place on April 12-13, 2023, at the Leela Palace in New Delhi.
• Implementing Agency: the National Book Trust, India acted as the Implementing Agency for SCO Young Authors’ Conference 2023.
• Theme: SCO Young Authors’ Conference was organized on the theme of “Civilizational Dialogue Among SCO Member States” with six sessions focussing on-

A contingent from the Indian Air Force (IAF) will leave soon for France to take part in Exercise Orion.

Exercise Orion 2023

The Orion exercise will be held at Mont-de-Marsan, which is an Air Force base belonging to the French Air and Space Force (FASF).

• Starting from April 17 and continuing until May 5, 2023, the IAF Contingent will participate in Exercise Orion with four Rafale, two C-17, two ll-78 aircraft, and a total of 165 air warriors.
  • Notably, this will be the maiden foreign exercise for the IAF’s Rafale aircraft.
• In addition to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the French Air and Space Force (FASF), several other Air Forces, including those from Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, and the United States of America, will participate in this multilateral Exercise Orion.
• By joining this exercise, the IAF aims to enhance its operational approach by adopting the best practices of other Air Forces.

From April 1-15, 2023, the Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice is observing Swachhata Pakhwada, which includes various cleaning activities and awareness programs.

The Legislative Department has been observing Swachhata Pakhwada every year in accordance with the calendar established by the Swachh Bharat Mission, launched by the Prime Minister in 2014.

• The Department has developed an Action Plan to observe the Pakhwada, which outlines the various activities that will be undertaken during this period.
• As part of the Swachhata Pakhwada, the Legislative Department of Ministry of Law and Justice also organized a tree plantation event in its campus.

Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 Pledge

A Pledge Taking Ceremony was conducted, during which the Secretary of the Legislative Department administered the Swachhata pledge to all employees, who participated in the ceremony.

• To raise awareness about their duties, banners were also displayed at prominent locations within the Shastri Bhawan office premises.
• Furthermore, housekeeping personnel were involved in cleaning and sanitizing the rooms of the Department.
