Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) – NITI Aayog has recently launched ATL Sarthi initiative. Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) has been established across India to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design thinking mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.
ATL Sarthi of AIM
Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) Sarthi is a comprehensive self-monitoring framework to strengthen the ever-growing ecosystem of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL). To strengthen innovation and creative ecosystem within India, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) continuously developing tools and frameworks to enhance the performance of ATLs and achieve the desired objectives. ATL Sarthi is one such initiative of AIM-NITI Aayog in this direction.
- The meaning of the word ‘Sarthi’ is a charioteer. Similarly, ATL Sarthi will act as an enabler for the ATLs to be efficient and effective.
ATL Sarthi Pillars
The ATL Sarthi initiative has four pillars ensuring the performance enhancement of ATLs through regular process improvements like-
- MyATL Dashboard’- A self-reporting dashboard
- Compliance SOPsfor schools to ensure financial and non-financial compliances,
- On-ground enablement of ATLs in collaboration with relevant local authorities through Cluster-based Approachand
- Performance-Enablement (PE) Matrix– Used for Providing ownership to schools to analyze their performance.
