Recently, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, delivered a speech at the G7 Ministerial meeting on Health Innovation held in Nagasaki, Japan.

G7 Health Ministerial Meeting 2023

In Nagasaki, Japan, the G7 Health Ministerial meeting was organized to deliberate on priorities, implementation, and utilization of health innovation such as digital health, with the aim of achieving Universal Health Coverage.

  • The meeting was attended by health ministers from the G7 countries as well as invited countries from the “Outreach 4” group, which included India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
  • During India’s G20 Presidency, digital health was identified as a key priority. India proposed the establishment of a Global Initiative on Digital Health, housed at the headquarters of the World Health Organization, to facilitate the convergence of all digital health initiatives worldwide.
  • At the meeting, Indian Minister urged the support of G7 member countries for the proposed initiative as this initiative is based on a network-of-network approach which will be crucial in bridging the global digital divide.

With the creation of the Centre for Processing Accelerated Corporate Exit (C-PACE), the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has taken a significant step towards centralizing the process of striking off companies.

Centre for Processing Accelerated Corporate Exit (C-PACE) Details

On 1st May 2023, Shri R.K. Dalmia, Director of Inspection and Investigation at MCA, inaugurated the Office of C-PACE. Shri Harihara Sahoo, ICLS, has been designated as the first Registrar of the C-PACE office.

  • The creation of C-PACE will not only alleviate the burden on the Registry but also ensure its cleanliness, resulting in more significant data accessibility for stakeholders.
  • By facilitating seamless filing and prompt and process-bound striking off of company names from the Register, C-PACE will also provide significant benefits to stakeholders.
  • This establishment is one of several measures undertaken by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to promote Ease of Doing Business and ease the exit process for companies.

The 4th edition of India-Indonesia Bilateral exercise Samudra Shakti-23 to be held from 14-19 May 23.

Ex Samudra Shakti-23 Details

INS Kavaratti, indigenously designed & built ASW Corvette, an Indian Navy Dornier Maritime Patrol aircraft and Chetak helicopter are participating in the Samudra Shakti 2023. The Indonesian Navy will be represented by KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda, CN 235 Maritime Patrol Aircraft and AS565 Panther Helicopter.

  • Venue and Duration: Ex Samudra Shakti-23 is to be conducted at Batam, Indonesia from 14-19 May 23.
  • Mandate: Exercise Samudra Shakti is aimed at enhancing interoperability, jointness and mutual cooperation between both the navies.
  • Significance: Samudra Shakti -23 will showcase the high level of interoperability between the two navies and their shared commitment towards peace and stability in the region.
  • Phases: Ex Samudra Shakti-23 will be held in two phases-
    • The Harbour phase will comprise Cross deck visits, professional Interactions, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, and sports fixtures.
    • During the Sea Phase, weapon firing, Helicopter Operations, Anti-submarine warfare & air defence exercises and boarding operations are planned.
