General (Dr.) V K Singh (Retd), the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Road Transport and Highways, presided over the inauguration of the G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS).
- Theme: G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS) is being organized with the theme of “Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems for Healthy People and Planet.”
- Venue: G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS) 2023 is being organized in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
- Participation: Representatives from around 80 foreign delegations from G20 member countries, invited guest countries, international organizations, and special invitees selected by India are participating in the three-day meeting.

World Heritage Day 2023 Details
World Heritage Day is celebrated every year on 18 April to preserve human heritage and to recognize all the efforts of relevant organisations.
- Theme: World Heritage Day or International Day for Monuments and Sites (IDMS) 2023 theme is ‘Heritage Changes’.
- Significance: World Heritage Day 2023 provides an avenue to address inquiries on how to incorporate traditional ways of knowing and knowledge systems to promote climate action and use cultural heritage as a means to ensure fair protection of at-risk communities in response to the UN Decade of Action.
Reclaiming India Cultural Heritage
Since 2014, over 230 valuable antiquities have been returned to India. Among the 244 antiquities originally of Indian origin that have been repatriated, 231 of them were retrieved after 2014. Currently, around 72 antiquities are in the process of being returned from countries such as the USA, UK, Singapore, and Australia. Our Prime Minister has raised this issue during various foreign trips, discussing the matter with global leaders and multilateral organizations. Consequently, many countries have initiated steps to return stolen artefacts and antiquities to India.

Recently, “Sangathan Se Samridhhi– Leaving no Rural Woman Behind” campaign was launched by The Ministry of Rural Development’s Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
Sangathan Se Samridhhi Campaign 2023
Sangathan Se Samridhhi– Leaving no Rural Woman Behind” is a national campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Samaveshi Vikaas. Sangathan Se Samridhhi campaign aimed at mobilizing 10 crore women from eligible rural households.
- Mandate: The Sangathan Se Samridhhi campaign aspires to bring all the vulnerable and marginalized rural households under the Self-Help Group (SHG) fold to enable them to draw benefits provided under the programme.
- Duration: Sangathan Se Samridhhi campaign will go on till June 30th 2023.
- Scope: The campaign will be organized in all states of India.
Sangathan Se Samridhhi Campaign Activities
Sangathan Se Samridhhi Campaign was launched with the expectation of forming more than 1.1 lakh SHGs during the period through interventions like-
- Organizing General Body Meetings of Village Organizations and experience sharing by SHG champions to motivate left out households to join SHGs,
- Conducting Community Resource Person drives,
- Mobilizing eligible women from PMAY-G beneficiary households,
- Training new SHG members,
- Reviving defunct SHGs,
- Opening SHG bank accounts and
- Creation of a common database of SHGs promoted by other stakeholders.
