Digital India Land Records Modernization Program in News

Recently, the Union Territory of Chandigarh introduced the Bhu Aadhaar initiative in three villages: Daria, Khuda Jasu, and Raipur Khurd. Bhu Aadhaar initiative is part of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program. The relevant information regarding this implementation is now accessible on the bhu-naksha portal.

Bhu Aadhaar system under DILRMP

The Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP) is an initiative to digitize land records. It is being implemented by the Department of Land Resources, Government of India.

• The Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP) aims to expedite the digitization of land records, including textual and spatial data, in order to provide land-related information to the public.
• Bhu-Aadhaar (ULPIN) is a 14-digit Alpha numeric number system which is of international standards. Geo-referencing is a pre-condition for generation of BhuAadhaar.
• As part of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP), the Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN), also known as the Bhu Aadhaar system, has been introduced in 26 States/Union Territories.
• These include Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Goa, Bihar, Odisha, Sikkim, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, and Ladakh.

Recently, the Women 20 (W20) Summit kicked off in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu in presence of Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, the Honorable Union Minister for Women and Child Development.

Women 20 (W20) Summit

Established in 2015, the W20 serves as the official G20 Engagement Group, dedicated to promoting gender equity and addressing related issues.

• The Women 20 (W20) Summit 2023 is being organized on the theme “Women-Led Development – Transform, Thrive, and Transcend,”.
• The W20 Communiqué emphasizes the crucial call to action under the presidency of India, focusing on five key priority areas-
  • Climate Change,
  • Women Entrepreneurship,
  • Gender Digital Divide,
  • Grassroots Women Leadership, and
  • Education and Skill Development.
• Dr Sandhya Purecha, the W20 Chair highlighted the various initiatives taken by W20 under India’s Presidency, which include-
  • A Compendium on Women-Led Development,
  • First Respondent Framework for Climate Change,
  • White Paper on Health and Gender Pay Gap, and
  • Women Entrepreneurship.

W20 Summit 2023 Importance

The Summit of W20 will include various panel discussions in the form of side events and main events across the key themes.

• In addition, the summit of W20 will include exhibition from grassroots entrepreneurs of Tamil Nadu, supported by the Department of Rural Development, Tamil Nadu.
• The exhibition will offer a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and creativity including exhibits by W20 Argentina and W20 Indonesia.
• Through its deliberations, the W20 Summit is expected to pave the way for developing a cogent strategy to target gender-related issues and build a collaborative approach among G20 countries.

Justice Clocks have been installed in various court complexes of High Courts. Justice Clocks are basically electronic signage systems.

Justice Clocks Details

The Justice Clocks initiative aims to provide stakeholders with information regarding key court parameters and create awareness among the public by offering a comprehensive overview of court-related data.

• In order to utilize the database generated by the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) and make it accessible to the public, LED Display Message Sign Board Systems have been implemented.
• The Justice Clock serves the purpose of raising public awareness about the justice sector, promoting departmental schemes, and providing status updates on various areas of interest.
• These electronic signage systems, measuring approximately 10×7 feet, offer information on court case disposals, available schemes and services within court complexes, and other beneficial information for citizens.
• A network of 39 functional Justice Clocks has been established across 25 High Courts.
• The e-committee has allocated a budget of Rs. 13 lakhs for each Justice Clock installation.
