Recently, the tenth round of discussions for an India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was successfully concluded between the Republic of India and the United Kingdom.
Similar to previous rounds, the recent negotiations for an India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) were conducted in a hybrid format, with some UK officials present in New Delhi while others participated virtually.
Both countries have agreed to avoid “sensitive issues” in the negotiations. Through early harvest agreement, India aims to achieve up to 65 per cent of coverage for goods and up to 40 per cent coverage for services.
In line with the overarching goal of establishing ‘One Nation One Helpline’ system across the nation, the Ministry has recently made a significant decision to integrate the Women Helpline and Child Helpline services with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112).
Childline Services, as stipulated in the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015 under section 2(25), refer to an around-the-clock emergency outreach service designed to assist children in distress.
The collaborative implementation of the Child Helpline system in coordination with the various States and Union Territories (UTs) is poised to have a significant impact on reinforcing the Service Delivery structures outlined in the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act of 2015, as amended in 2021.
Recently, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a new ‘Knowledge Sharing’ platform aimed at facilitating the exchange of knowledge and innovative best practices. ‘Knowledge Sharing Platform’ is hosted on the NHAI website.
NHAI’s ‘Knowledge Sharing Platform’ provides an opportunity for the authority to engage with experts and individuals interested in sharing their knowledge and insights on various topics including road design, construction, road safety, environmental sustainability, and related areas.
