On June 17, 2023, the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation will hold the Award Distribution Ceremony for the 4th National Water Awards at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, the Vice President, has been invited to serve as the esteemed Chief Guest for the Award Distribution Ceremony.
- A total of 41 winners, including joint winners, have been chosen for the 4th National Water Awards, 2022, which encompasses 11 categories.
- These categories include ‘Best State,’ ‘Best District,’ ‘Best Village Panchayat,’ ‘Best Urban Local Body,’ ‘Best School,’ ‘Best Media,’ ‘Best Institution for campus usage,’ ‘Best water user association,’ ‘Best Industry,’ ‘Best Industry for CSR activities,’ and ‘Best NGO.’
4th National Water Awards 2023 Prize
The recipients in each category will receive a citation, trophy, and a cash prize. The cash prizes for the first, second, and third place winners are Rs. 2 lakhs, Rs. 1.5 lakhs, and Rs. 1 lakh, respectively.

- These submissions should also include estimated costs and a justification of the professional qualifications and competence necessary for successful proposal implementation.
- The ‘GAINS 2023’ Challenge focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Renewable/Green Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Efficiency Enhancement.

Recently, the conclusion of the 3rd Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG) meeting took place in Mumbai during India’s G20 Presidency.

Over the course of three days, the G20 India’s 3rd Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG) meeting saw the active involvement of 141 delegates from G20 nations and 10 invitee countries. Additionally, representatives from 14 international and regional organizations were present to partake in the deliberations held during this period.
- During the 3rd ECSWG meeting, the main focus was on conducting detailed discussions regarding the draft Ministerial Communique.
- The meeting involved constructive deliberations and conversations on priority areas.
- Building upon the Focus Group Discussions conducted by the Indian Presidency over the previous three weeks across all three thematic priorities, the discussions were carried out with a strong commitment to collaboration and inclusivity.
- The outcome documents were thoroughly reviewed, and member countries presented their individual perspectives on a line-by-line basis.
- The 3 priories outlined for the ECSWG were arresting land degradation, promoting circular economy and giving impetus to blue economy. All meetings focused on specific theme out of these three themes.
- The 3rd ECSWG, focussed on Blue Economy and was supported by two side events – Mega Beach Clean Up Event and the Ocean 20 Dialogue on Day 1 of the meeting.
