Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2023 in News

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Bikaner (Rajasthan) where she will grace and address the 14th Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2023. About 350 folk and tribal artists from all over India along with about 300 local folk artists, some transgender and differently abled artists, renowned classical artists as well as famous star artists are all set to entertain and inspire the audience with their enthralling performances.

What is Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2023?

The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav is organized by the Ministry of Culture every year in different states of India to promote National Unity and integrity through cultural exchange.

  • Background: It was held in Madhya Pradesh in 2019, in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in 2022, and now this year Maharashtra is the host.
  • Participation: All the seven zonal Cultural Centres and academies under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, are participating in this event.
    • Entry to the entire event is free for all citizens and art lovers.
  • Organizing Body: The event is being conducted in co-operation with Ministry of Culture, Govt. of Maharashtra.

An Indian Air Force contingent comprising 145 Air Warriors departed Air Force Station Jamnagar for participating in Exercise Cobra Warrior at the Waddington Air Force Base of the Royal Air Force in United Kingdom.

Exercise Cobra Warrior 2023

The Exercise Cobra Warrior is a multilateral Air exercise in which Air Forces from Finland, Sweden, South Africa, United States of America and Singapore would also be participating alongside Royal Air Force (UK) and IAF (India).

  • The Cobra Warrior exercise 2023 is scheduled from 06 Mar 23 to 24 Mar 23.
  • The IAF is participating in the exercise Cobra Warrior 2023 with five Mirage 2000 fighters, two C-17 Globemaster III and an IL-78 mid-air refueler aircraft.
  • The aim of the Cobra Warrior  exercise is to participate in diverse fighter aircraft engagements and learn from the best practices of various Air Forces.

Recently, the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the International Biotech Conclave 2023, first-ever being organized in Northeast region. For the first time since Independence, North East Region is organizing an International Conference on Biotechnology involving over 700 International and National delegates representing over 35 countries.

The International Bio-resource Conclave 2023 is being held along with the 22nd Congress of the International Society for Ethno-pharmacology and the 10th Congress of Society for Ethno-pharmacology (ISE SFEC-2023) from February 24-26, 2023.

  • Theme: International Conference on Biotechnology is being held on theme of “Reimagine Ethnopharmacology : Globalisation of Traditional Medicine”.
  • Venue: International Bio-resource Conclave 2023 is to be organized at the City Convention Centre, Imphal, Manipur.
  • Organizers: International Bio-resource Conclave 2023 is being organized by the Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) in collaboration with Society for Ethno-pharmacology, India and International Society for Ethno-pharmacology, Switzerland.

Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) was established in the year 2001 in Imphal under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

  • IBSD Institute is not only serving the people of Manipur in Northeast but also has three different other entities including its Regional Centre at Gangtok in Sikkim and Research Nodes at Shillong in Meghalaya and at Aizawl in Mizoram.
