Recently, MeitY Startup Hub (MSH) and Meta have announced the list of 120 startups and innovators for the XR Startup Program. XR Startup Program is a collaboration between MSH and Meta to discover, nurture, and accelerate Extended Reality (XR) technology startups and innovators across India. XR Startup Program announced in September 2022.

Recently, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched a special mobile application for the Khelo India Youth Games 2022. This is the first time that a dedicated App has been launched for the Khelo India Youth Games.

Special App to KIYG 2022 was launched to ensure that participating athletes, coaches, support staff, parents of athletes and officials from all states participating in the Games have access to all information about the Games, on a click of a button. Key features of the app are as follows-

• The App has a dedicated athlete login and supports the athlete right from the time of his or her registration into the games, through the entire course of the Games.
• The app gives the athlete a chance to check if his or her verified documents have been uploaded, before the start of the Games.
  • This will ensure greater transparency for athletes in the registration process.
• For sports fans, the App gives access to match schedules, medal tally, address of Games venues and photo gallery.
• The App is available both for Android and Apple phones and can be downloaded free of cost.

Recently, Shri Manoj Kumar, Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, inaugurated the Khadi Fest- 23 at the KVIC Headquarters in Mumbai. Khadi Fest 2023 of KVIC will run from January 27 to February 24, 2023.

Eco-park & Coal Museum Constructed by MCL

Recently, Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) developed the Chandra Shekar Azad eco-park and Coal Museum at mine No.4 of Orient Area in Ib Valley Coalfields, Jharsuguda, Odisha. The Eco-park is situated at Gandghora village on the side of Jharsuguda-Raigarh National Highway 49.

Eco-park by MCL

The enchanting eco-park with lush green landscape, coal café and a children’s park was constructed by MCL in a record time after repurposing coal mine No.4 that closed production in 2017. The Eco park also provides opportunity to have first-hand experience of an underground mine to the visitors.

Coal Museum by MCL

The Coal Museum inside the park is a perfect glimpse of the history and legacy of coal mining in India. Working models of different machines and vehicles used in Under Ground and Open Cast mines are on display. Coal Mining equipment/machines on display include surface miner, dumper, crane, tipper, dozer, belt conveyor, coal cutting machine, drill machine and backhoe to name a few.
