Annually, on the auspicious day of Jyeshtha Ashtami, Kashmiri Pandits make a pilgrimage to the revered Mata Ragneya Devi Temple, popularly known as Kheer Bhawani Temple, to offer their heartfelt reverence and devotion.

  • The Kheer Bhawani Mela, observed on Jyeshtha Ashtami in Kashmir, holds immense religious significance for the Kashmiri Pandit community.
  • It serves as a sacred gathering for sisters and brothers, deeply rooted in their spiritual beliefs.
  • This year, the Mela witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with over 25,000 devotees in attendance.
  • During the auspicious event of Jyeshtha Ashtami last year, approximately 18,000 devotees and Kashmiri Pandits congregated at the renowned Mata Kheer Bhavani Temple.

Recently, Shri Parshottam Rupala launched VI Phase of Sagar Parikarma Yatra in Anadaman. Sagar Parikrama Phase-VI, journey will cover the areas in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, covering locations like Kodiyaghat, Port Blair, Panighat Fish landing center, VK Pur Fish Lending Center, Hutbay, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island etc.

Shri Parshottam Rupala, the Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, has launched the “Sagar Parikrama” program. Phases of Sagar Parikarma Yatra

The primary objective is to directly interact with these individuals, listening to their concerns, suggestions, and feedback in order to enhance and uplift the fisheries sector for the welfare of fishers and other stakeholders.

  • The inaugural phase of “Sagar Parikrama” commenced on 5th March 2022 from Mandvi, Gujarat.
  • To date, the program has successfully covered the coastal regions of Gujarat, Daman & Diu, Maharashtra, and Karnataka in its five phases along the west coast.
