The District Good Governance Index (DGGI) is an index that evaluates the quality of governance at the district level. It measures various parameters and indicators across sectors to assess the performance and effectiveness of district administrations.
The DGGI is calculated by considering multiple data points and indicators related to governance across different sectors. These indicators are assigned weights based on their relative importance, and the overall index is derived by aggregating the scores.
The DGGI covers multiple sectors, including but not limited to healthcare, education, infrastructure, economic opportunities, public service delivery, and social welfare. These sectors are evaluated to provide a comprehensive assessment of governance.
The DGGI serves several purposes. It promotes transparency, accountability, and efficiency in district governance. It helps identify areas of improvement and facilitates evidence-based decision-making for policymakers and administrators.
