Divya Kala Shakti 2023 Program Organized at the Rudraksha Convention & Cultural Centre in Varanasi

Divya Kala Shakti Cultural Event: Divya Kala Shakti is a western cultural event that is being organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Divya Kala Shakti Cultural Event is important for UPSC Prelims 2023 and UPSC Mains Exam (GS Paper 1- Indian culture will cover the salient aspects of Art Forms, Literature and Architecture from ancient to modern times).

Recently, the ‘Divya Kala Shakti’ Program was inaugurated at the Rudraksha Convention & Cultural Centre in Varanasi by Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

Divya Kala Shakti 2023 Details

Approximately 100 artists from six states, namely West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand performed in the DIVYA KALA SHAKTI 2023 program.

• Venue: The sixth DIVYA KALA SHAKTI program was organized in the divine city of Varanasi.
• Organizing Ministry: The cultural event ‘Divya Kala Shakti – Witnessing Ability in Disability’ organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, through CRC-Lucknow.
• Significance: Divya Kala Shakti 2023 program reflected a unique combination of folk and regional dance forms from all the aforementioned regions.
• Key Activities: The department arranged for their rehearsals and practice sessions with the choreographer, and the discipline and precision of timing and performance among such children is the greatest example of their intellectual, creative, and latent abilities that need to be harnessed for their optimal self-actualization.

Divya Kala Shakti 2023 Participation

The Divya Kala Shakti 2023 event was witnessed by various dignitaries representing senior government officials, creative personalities, educators, principals, and various disability advocacy groups, among others.

• The sixth DIVYA KALA SHAKTI 2023 program saw the participation of approximately 1,600 spectators from various backgrounds.
• Among the attendees were public representatives, members of the state administration, non-governmental organizations, Asha Workers, Anganwari Workers, primary and secondary teachers, university students, representatives of music Gharana, rehabilitation professionals, and stakeholders of the department.
• These diverse individuals came together to witness the exceptional performances by the talented Divyang children and youth.

What is Divya Kala Shakti?

Divya Kala Shakti’ is a cultural event which was organized in various parts of the country since 2019,  at the national level and in other regions of the country.

• About: Divya kala shakti is a self-explanatory classical event contributed by all divyangjan of Western India in order to show case and witness their ability in disability.
• Mandate: Divya Kala Shakti aims at developing confidence among the persons with disabilities and appreciated the efforts of their hard work of parents and teachers.
• Organizing Body: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E), Govt. of India is entrusted with organizing the Divya Kala Shakti.
  • First-ever western regional Divya Kala Shakti was hosted by Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan).
• Significance: Events like Divya kala shakti will help in infusing the ‘Divya Shakthi’ and self confidence among persons with disabilities.
  • The Divya kala shakti event will help in making the ‘Divya Shakthi’ among persons with disabilities one of the powerful to tool to develop our community and our country.
• Certificate of Recognition: All the participants was awarded a certificate for recognition for their performance at the Divya Kala Shakti’ organized in the western regional level.
